Facility Use at UNCG

In support of the University's Mission, UNCG has adheres to the Facility Use Policy. Below are the goals that outline the purpose of the policy.

Strengthen Outreach to the Community
1. Outreach is part of UNCG's mission. UNCG will make its facilities available to benefit the larger community.
2. Such use will be:
  1. for activities consistent with UNCG's mission
  2. consistent with state law
  3. carried out according to UNCG policies and procedures
  4. scheduled with attention to other demands placed on facilities
3. Academic and co-curricular conferences and colloquia are among the kinds of events that advance a university's teaching, research, creative expression, professional service, and student development missions.
Promote High Quality, Consistency, and Clarity in Community Contacts
1. UNCG will enable community groups to learn about University facilities and its other resources as easily as possible.
2. UNCG will see that community groups have consistent, high-quality experiences when on campus.
Enable Campus Departments to Meet Community Needs
1. UNCG's procedures will provide adequate information and coordination for campus offices to enable them to provide high-quality experiences for campus visitors.
2. UNCG's procedures will provide information to senior management about facility use.
3. Where state or grant funds are not provided, UNCG offices will charge administrative fees adequate to cover the cost of providing high-quality experiences.
4. To maintain campus facilities, UNCG offices will charge appropriate facility usage fees for off-campus organizations that use them.
