Using the Pop-Up Printer

In some situations, instructors may wish to release the print jobs that students send to the printer during the course of a class or an exam. To do this, the individual releasing the print jobs must pay for these print jobs in one of three ways:

  1. Purchase an allocation from Information Technology Services (ITS) via an interdepartmental transfer.
  2. Use personal UNCG FirstCard.
  3. Have a "print-only" card obtained from the FirstCard Center in the EUC and paid for by the instructor's department.

What the student must do at the computer from within the program being used:

  1. Print Dialog BoxClick Print.
  2. Select the pop-up printer from the list of printers in the print dialog box.
  3. Click OK.




















  4. UsernameWhen the pop-up printer window appears, the student must type in the instructor's Novell Netware user name.
  5. Click OK.
  6. This will send the job to the printer.










What the instructor must do at the Print Release Station:

  1. Print Release Station LoginLog into the Print Release Station with his or her Novell Netware user name.





















  2. Releasing Print jobsClick on the jobs to highlight the job or jobs to be released.
  3. Click Print (or delete to delete print jobs).
  4. Click Log Off when you are done and your card will be ejected from the Debitek card reader.
