About the Laptops
There are several Lenovo and Apple laptops offered through the UNCG Student Laptop Program. Each vendor provides a less expensive model and high-end models that offer better performance. Be sure to examine the hardware, software, and warranty-related information before making any final decision. In addition, listed below are specifications for the Lenovo Edge, a non-SLP offering which does not come with the bundle software or full 3-year warranty but is offered for purchase from the Lenovo site.
Students are free to select any of the recommended laptops for purchase. However, be sure to check with the department of your degree program to see if there are any expressed Laptop Platform Preferences.

Software:
Your Student Laptop Program Lenovo laptop comes pre-loaded with software for academic use. The software has been selected to ensure successful student use in all academic disciplines. The cost of the Lenovo includes this software.
Apple laptops purchased through the Student Laptop Program will now be delivered with the Snow Leopard OSX only. Microsoft Office and Symantec Antivirus must be installed at the Technology Support Center in 101 Forney.
Note: Software is available only for current registered students who have purchased through the Student Laptop Program (SLP). Once a student has graduated or transferred, the software can no longer be obtained.
Microsoft licensing has allowed UNCG to distribute Office 2007 media for $7.00, Windows 7 media for $9.00, and Symantec Antivirus media for $5.00 to Student Laptop Participants. Please fill out this form to request your copy:
