Changes

• Each port will support only one network device. If more then one network device is plugged into a single port, the port will shut down for a period of 5 minutes.
• Hubs will not support more then one network device. The first network device plugged in will work, but any additional devices will not.
• All network devices must use UNCG's Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to receive their IP address. Static IP address configurations will not function. Exceptions to this rule will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
• File sharing on older Windows OS machines, like 3.11 and Windows 98, will not function. Current Novell file sharing will not be affected.
• The infrastructure will prohibit a computer from acting as its own DHCP server.
• Mobile zones are not present in any of the new buildings. You must use our Self-Service Network Registration or Virtual Private Networking (VPN) instead of the Mobile zone.
