Connect to the Wireless Network as a Guest

The wireless network at UNCG allows visitors to establish an unsecured connection. The unsecured network is available as a self-service wireless profile.

  • This is an open, unsecured network with bandwidth restrictions of 768 Kbps.
  • Access is restricted to basic Internet use only.
  • Access is denied to any sensitive UNCG systems.

  1. Select either UNCG-Wireless or JSNN-Wireless* from the available wireless networks.

    *Note: The JSNN-Wireless network is available only in the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) building, located on the South Campus of the Gateway University Research Park.
  2. Open a web browser. Examples of web browsers include Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Safari.
  3. If you already have an account or one has been provided to you, click on Sign In; otherwise, fill out the Visitor Registration form.

    1. Enter your Full Name.
    2. If you would like your password delivered to you via SMS text message, enter your 10-digit cell phone number and select your cellular service provider.
    3. Enter your Email Address. This will be your username for the guest network.
    4. Check the Confirm box to accept the terms of use.
    5. Click the Register button to have your password sent to your email address and, if selected, cell phone.
  4. Click “Please sign in here” to log into the Guest Network.

  5. Complete the Network Login.

    1. Enter your email address in the Username field.
    2. Enter the Password you received via SMS text message or email.
    3. Check the box to accept the Terms of use.
    4. Click on the Log In button.
  6. Your device will remain registered for 8 hours, and you will not be required to log in again during this period. Once the 8-hour period has expired, you will need to complete the Visitor Registration again to reconnect.
