Who: e-Spartan Web Client Users

What: Latest Firefox browser updates affect the e-Spartan web client

Mozilla has released upgrades to the Firefox web browser (versions 2.0.0.10 and 2.0.0.11).

These new releases affect the e-Spartan web client in the following ways:

Information Technology Services (ITS) recommends that users refrain from upgrading to/installing Firefox 2.0.0.10 or 2.0.0.11 until further notice. If you have already upgraded, the solution is to roll back to a prior version of Firefox. For instructions on rolling back to a previous version,

  1. Go to 6-TECH Online
  2. Login using your Novell User Name and Password, then
  3. Copy and paste the following into the search field: e-Spartan and Firefox

Another alternative is to use IE 7 (Internet Explorer 7). Note: Some past performance issues with IE 7 and e-Spartan have been resolved.

IBM is working with Mozilla to identify a fix. Once a fix has been identified; ITS will test, post, and announce it.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact 6-TECH at (336) 256-TECH (8324).
