- Who: e-Spartan (Lotus Notes) Email Users
- What: Changing @noreply.uncg.edu to @email.uncg.edu
On July 22nd, UNCG ITS made a change in the email architecture that appended the word noreply to the uncg.edu email address. This was done in preparation for the student move to iSpartan mail and is necessary in order for @uncg.edu to serve as the email address for all campus users even though users will be on two different email platforms.
Due to some confusion caused by the use of the word "noreply," UNCG ITS has decided to change to @email.uncg.edu. This change will be made on Monday, August 18, 2008.
A few important points:
- Your UNCG email address will be yourusername@uncg.edu
- When someone sends mail to you using yourusername@uncg.edu email address, it will arrive in your inbox as yourusername@email.uncg.edu due to the way the servers have to handle the message.
- When you send an email to someone off campus, they will see the email as from yourusername@uncg.edu, however if you reply to an email thread, you may see yourusername@email.uncg.edu in the message thread.
- If someone mistakenly sends an email to you as yourusername@email.uncg.edu the message will be delivered to you, however you should not communicate this as your email address.
UNCG ITS apologizes for any confusion this change may have caused you. If you have questions or need more information, please contact 6-TECH at (336) 256-TECH (8324) or 6-tech@uncg.edu.
