Universities across the country have reported threatening emails being sent from spammers using the school's email identity.

At least one such message has arrived on campus but the personalization of the message had not occurred. Should you feel threatened by an email, please contact Campus Police.
Another type of attack that has surfaced shows up as coming from your “University IT group†asking you to responds and complete a form. The request is asking for details similar to below:

Warning!!! owner that refuses to update his or her Email Account within Seven days of receiving this warning will lose his or her Email
Spammers are using schemes with the return email address to make you think it's going back to campus.
Note: Information Technology Services (ITS) would never ask an individual to respond to email with username and password.
