10 November 2008

FastFacts

  • Who: Faculty, Staff, and Students
  • What: Handling Spam Messages (including message coming from "Me")
  • Client Action: See below

There have been recent reports of Lotus and iSpartan email users receiving excess spam messages, some coming from "Me." Information Technology Services recommends clients follow these guidelines to protect against and remove spam:

Faculty & Staff: Send your spam email messages directly to Spamrpt@uncg.edu. For advanced control management options, visit UNCG's Spam Control site. For information on managing spam and using UNCG's Spam Control site, logon into 6TECH Online and search with keywords "spam control."

Students: Mark your spam email messages as spam, as that will help Google Mail know how to treat messages sent to you. Visit Gmail's Help Center for additional email management resources.

If you have questions or need more information, please contact 6-TECH at (336) 256-TECH (8324) or 6-tech@uncg.edu.
