ITS is currently upgrading the UNCG Novell environment to address security issues and to enhance functionality. As a part of the Novell update, ITS will update the software that runs the UNCG Applications folder on Windows computers to ZENWorks 7.0. An automatic upgrade will be delivered to your computer between 9:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2008, and 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Administrative units will receive the upgrade on Monday and Tuesday, and academic units will receive the upgrade on Wednesday and Thursday.
The upgrade procedure is as follows:
- The upgrade will begin when you turn on or restart your computer
- During the upgrade, you will see a progress dialog box.
- You will then see a dialog box asking if you want to restart your computer, and you should do so, even if the progress dialog box is still active.
- After this restart the update will take effect.
If you incorrectly click on "No" when asked if you want to restart your computer, you will not have access to the UNCG Applications folder. If this happens, restart your machine, repeat the process, but click on "Yes" when asked if you want to restart your machine.
