Postini Spam Report
17 July 2009
UNCG's email antispam and antivirus provider, Postini, identifies and blocks spam and viruses by using latest mail filtering techniques. Each day UNCG faculty and staff receive an email, like the one featured below, which lists messages classified as "junk mail" by Postini. Sometimes in this daily email summary, it may appear that a spam message has been sent from your email account. Spammers often set the "From" address in an attempt to bypass the mail filter system and to convince you to open the message. You will often see messages in the quarantine summary with a "From" address being your own email address and you should be able to ignore these messages.
