Forney "Laptop Support Center" is now the "Technology Support Center"

The "Laptop Support Center" in Forney 101 has been renamed the "Technology Support Center" to better reflect the broad range of services being offered in that facility. The facility serves as a repair center for student laptops purchased through the University's student laptop purchase option, and offers additional services to all UNCG students, faculty, and staff. These services include consultation for all UNCG clients regarding access to and use of the UNCG wireless network. This spring, a laptop loaner service (limited availability) was added for UNCG faculty or staff dropping off laptops for repair. After June SOAR, the wireless support function currently split between Forney and the EUC will occur solely in Forney.

Currently, the Center is expanding services to include working "demo" models of select Campus-wide Hardware Procurement Program (CHP) laptops to help clients make decisions regarding the model they would like to purchase. Brief training modules are also being developed. The Center intends to expand services to include sales of software and select computer parts such as batteries and laptop security cables.
