Important Update to spamcontrol.uncg.edu for Faculty/Staff

02 September 2009

FastFacts

  • Who: Faculty and staff
  • What: Login access to Sophos PureMessage will be disabled
  • When: Friday, September 4, 2009
  • Client Action: Move any personal mail rules from PureMessage to Postini before Friday

On Monday, July 13th, UNCG transitioned its anti-virus/anti-spam solution for Faculty/Staff email from Sophos PureMessage to Postini (see ITS News Article for more information).

Login to Sophos PureMessage was left enabled so that users could migrate any custom mail rules they had created into Postini. In order to complete the transition from Sophos PureMessage to Postini, ITS will remove login access to Sophos PureMessage on Friday, September 4, 2009. If you have personal mail rules in PureMessage, you are responsible for moving them to Postini before September 4th. If you need help migrating your mail rules, read Migrating Your Mail Rules.
