Off-Campus Telephone Service
Looking for telephone service at your off-campus site?
If you would like to subscribe to the current campus phone service, communicate this to your assigned ITS consultant. He or she will address the following considerations with you to determine an estimated timeline of installation.
- What is the new building address? This will allow ITS to determine the availability of the service.
- If your off-campus site is outside of the phone service area, understand that it can still be provided but at a premium.
- Telephone service requires at least a Cat 3 cable.
- If the building is already wired for voicemail, ITS can use the existing cables, but there is no guarantee on service. Existing cabling must be tested before any new equipment is installed. This could affect installation time.
- If new data wiring is necessary, ITS will also install new voice cabling since the cost is minimal.
