Collection and Preservation of University Publications
The University Of North Carolina At Greensboro
(Approved October 5, 1990)
- University publications are printed materials that are produced
for distribution to well-defined audiences to convey specific messages
on behalf of the University regardless of the following conditions:
- Source of funding.
- Whether or not the publications are created with the help of the University Publications Office.
- Whether they are printed on campus or by a commercial printing firm.
Examples of University publications are brochures, newsletters, booklets, flyers, programs, and announcements.
- There are several reasons for collecting and preserving publications.
- State agencies are required, by law, to forward a specified number of copies of publications to the State Library Depository System.
- The staff of the University Archives in Jackson Library collects and preserves printed materials documenting the life of the University.
- The University Publications Office maintains copies of University publications for administrative purposes.
- Policy
Within 10 days of issuance, forward 20 copies of each publication to:
University Publications Office
1100 W. Market St.
CAMPUS
The University Publications Office will distribute the publications appropriately among the State Library Depository System, University Archives, and the University Publications Office. - Questions/Information
