Policy Manual Introduction
The University Policy Manual was created in 1988 to serve as a primary reference document for University staff and faculty. Sections include: academic/academic support; administration; personnel; research; student service; and an appendix. Policies in the manual are prepared by the appropriate University official and generally reviewed. The coding system for policies reflects the section, area of responsibility, and number.
Example Policy number: I:C:001
- I = Section of the Manual in which the policy is located
- C = University area responsible for the policy
- A = Academic Affairs
- B = Business Affairs
- C = Chancellor
- D = University Advancement
- P = Information Technology Services
- S = Student Affairs
- 001 = Policy number within section
The original Policy Manual had a uniform format for policies. On the Web, titles of some policies are linked to the office of origin causing formats to vary.
