Vendor Software Deals
Some vendors offer educational pricing or special programs for students.
- Autodesk - Students can register for a free account and get AutoCAD and other Autodesk design software.
- HLM Student - A student version of HLM 6 can be downloaded from this page.
- Stata Gradplan - Faculty may register their courses at no charge with StataCorp in order to get discounted pricing on Stata for their students.
- JourneyEd - A number of software titles, including Microsoft Office, are offered at an educational discount from JourneyEd.
- Microsoft "the Ultimate Steal" - A limited-time offer from Microsoft for discounted pricing on MS Office, good through December 31, 2010.
- Microsoft Windows 7 Promo - A limited-time offer from Microsoft for discounted pricing on MS Windows 7, good through January 3, 2010.
Please note: ITS strongly recommends that you purchase the Windows 7 Professional Edition rather than the Home Premium Edition as some academic software will not run under the Home Premium edition. In order to purchase the Professional Edition:
- Fill out the Registration Form on the web site.
- You will receive an email message. Click the link in the email to go to the purchase site.
- On the purchase page, be sure to click on the link that says "Need to join your school's network domain? You can also get Windows 7 Professional for $29.99. Click here" in order to see the option to purchase the Professional version.
Note that these are "pre-orders," as Windows 7 will not begin shipping until October 22, 2009.
