- Q: What accounts do I need?
- There are several default accounts new students must activate.
These accounts include Novell, UNCG Domain ADS (Windows Active Directory), UNIX, e-Spartan, and Blackboard. For more information about all accounts, read UNCG Computer Account Descriptions.
- Q: How do I activate my accounts?
- All of your default accounts can be activated at once using the Computer Accounts Activation Request.
- Q: What kind of computer should I buy to use on campus?
- In the fall semester of 2006, full-time freshmen are encouraged to purchase a wireless laptop computer. Laptop ownership will be required for incoming freshmen in the fall semester of 2007. For details regarding the University Laptop initiative, visit University Student Laptop Initiative.
- Q: How do I set up a computer in my dorm room?
- Visit the ResNet (Residential Networking) Web site for information about how to set up your computer. ResNet is a service offered by UNCG's Housing and Residence Life.
- Q: How do I get phone service in my dorm room?
- To set up your new phone service, call Telephone Services at 336-334-5937. For more information, visit the Telephone Services Web site.

- The Acceptable Use of Computing and Electronic Resources Policy outlines the acceptable use of computer and information technology resources provided by The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. - Q: Where are the student computing labs on campus? What are the hours of operation?
- There are computer labs located in the following buildings: Bryan, Eberhart, Graham, HHP, McIver, Moore, Music, Petty, Stone, and Jackson Library. For specific information about the labs, go to the Computer Lab Information and Hours Web page.
- Q: How do I access my email?

- Q: How do I register for classes?
