Common Spelling Errors

  • UNIX (not Unix)
  • Use a.m. and p.m. (or AM and PM) and do not include o'clock. Designate noon or midnight, rather than 12 a.m. or 12 p.m.
  • ensure means to guarantee; insure refers to insurance
  • screen saver (two words)

Make all spelling consistent with the rules of convention outlined in the American Heritage Dictionary. Be sure to spell check every document before submitting it.
