Purpose
This procedure addresses the following section of the related policy:
Section III.B
"Wireless traffic involving data classified as restricted under the Data Classification Policy must be encrypted in accordance with acceptable encryption standards."
Scope
This procedure covers wireless bridge point-to-point access connectivity that is installed inside the UNCG Information Technology Services wireless network infrastructure.

Standard
Wireless connection on the UNCG campus is installed, regulated, and managed only by ITS. The standards are based on meeting no less than the minimum specification laid out by the WiFi Alliance to be able to do 802.11i standardized security setup with WPA(1) or WPA(2) with 802.1x point to point authentication. The actual standards are covered in detail in the ITS internal document Configuration Procedure for Wireless Bridge Point-to-Point Access.
