Campus-wide Hardware Procurement Program
In December 2007, UNCG's Executive Staff, with input from the Dean's Council, directed Information Technology Services (ITS) to implement a UNCG Campus-wide Hardware Procurement program. This ITS-managed Program includes hardware savings for departments based on UNCG-negotiated discounts, better hardware management through central receiving and inventory of program equipment, expedited support for program equipment, and enhanced data security through lifecycle management.
The Campus-wide Hardware Procurement (CHP) program provides UNCG purchasers the opportunity to Purchase new Business class computer equipment at attractive prices based on volume discounts provided by Vendor(s). Save Money! In addition, UNCG benefits by having standardized hardware, an improved inventory collection, and an improved Support relation with Vendor(s), for example, stocked parts, service loaner machines, and Factory software loading ("imaging"). Save Time!
ATTENTION:
UNCG's CHP program offers standard PC models covered by the UNC System collaborative purchasing arrangement. The UNC Combined Pricing Initiative (CPI) combines the purchasing power of 17 UNC institutions to provide all with equal access to volume discounts on PC equipment purchases and related services.
