TeleLearning and TeleConferencing Scheduling
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) sends and receives classes over the North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN). This network, one of the most advanced research and education networks in the nation, provides video conferencing and telecast services to all of the University of North Carolina (UNC) system campuses, as well as Duke University, Wake Forest University, and other public and non-profit institutions. In order to coordinate and facilitate scheduling of video activities, the NCREN Network schedules regular ongoing programs nearly a year ahead of the time that these programs actually occur.
Scheduling for 2008-2009
Scheduling of teleclasses for Fall 2008, Spring 2009 and summer 2009 was completed in January 2008. It may still be possible to schedule a teleclass directly or through the NCREN network even after the scheduling deadline has passed. This assumes that the time you wish to request is available here at UNCG, at the intended receive site, and with NCREN. While there is no guarantee that a class can be scheduled, we will be glad to make the request for you. Scheduling for 2009-2010 will begin in late September.
If your school or department has a class approved for off-campus delivery, or if your department is part of a multi-campus consortium, and you plan to deliver or receive classes via interactive television, you should contact the TeleLearning Center as soon as possible to submit a formal request for scheduling. The TeleLearning Center, in turn, will submit this request to NCREN.
