Clients may keep track of courses they wish to take and have taken online. To learn more about Element K and sign up for an account, visit Element K: e-Learning at UNCG (elementk.uncg.edu).
Workshops
ITS offers FREE training to faculty, staff, and students at UNCG. Registration for classes is online and on a first-come, first-served basis. In general, classes are offered starting the second week of classes for a semester and are on-going throughout the semester. There are several other organizations that offer workshops that cover technology related topics; some are open to faculty and staff only, while others are geared for student audiences. ITS and these other organizations post their courses on the Teaching and Learning Center's Workshops and Events Calendar. Please visit this calendar to find out what workshops are available for you by selecting the appropriate category there. ITS classes are offered in a number of categories:
- e-Spartan Training [Faculty/Staff]
- e-Spartan Training [Students]
- ITS - Data Analysis
- ITS - ListServs
- ITS - Operating Systems (Macintosh and Microsoft Windows)
- ITS - Web Publishing
- ITS - Mach5 Mailer
When you sign up for a workshop:
- Please sign up for only one session of a specific topic.
- Reserve your space as soon as possible because space is limited. Please register at least 48 hours before a class.
- Include your name, UNCG user name, phone number, and other information on the sign-up form.
- Classes start and end on time, so please be prompt. If you cannot attend a class for which you are registered, email the contact for that class.
To suggest a topic for a workshop, send an email to 6-TECH. In addition to our scheduled open classes, our trainers are available on a limited basis to teach our regular workshops for a class or faculty/staff group. Faculty or staff may call 6-TECH Technical Support at 336-256-TECH(8324) to request a workshop.
