UNCG Faculty and Staff Access to Virtual Private Networking
Virtual Private Networking (VPN) is used to create a secure path to UNCG's network in order for your machine to access restricted data or protected systems. VPN creates an encrypted network connection between you and the UNCG network. Your computer logically will be part of the UNCG network when using a VPN connection.
This document is for faculty and staff members who wish to access restricted data or protected systems on the UNCG network from off-campus or on-campus locations. In order to use VPN at UNCG, you must have an active UNCG Novell account (or Novell Authentication Object) and an Internet connection.
Any staff or faculty member who has a UNCG Novell account (or Novell Authentication Object) is licensed to use the Faculty/Staff VPN software. It is good for wireless, off-campus access, on-campus mobile access, and other types of access.
You can review the requirements, other account types (System Administrator or Vendor), or proceed to installation instructions for Windows or Mac OS X.
