Getting Help

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides support and documentation for the various services and products that we make available to the University community.There are multiple ways to get technical help from ITS:


6-TECH Online

Via 6-TECH Online, you can:

  • search for information about ITS-provided services and products
  • search for answers to your technology questions
  • submit an online request if your search does not produce an adequate solution.
  • view previously submitted 6-TECH tickets

A-Z Index

Search for answers to your technololgy questions using the A-Z Index directory of online documentation for ITS services and products.

6-TECH hours of service:
Monday-Thursday 7am - 10pm, Friday 7am - 8pm, except during the following holiday periods:

New Year: Closes at 7pm, December 31 - Re-opens at 7am, January 2

Spring Holiday: Closes at 10pm, Thursday - Re-opens at 7am, Monday

Thanksgiving: Closes at 10pm, Wednesday - Re-opens at 10am, Friday

Winter Holiday: Closes at 7 pm, December 24 - Re-opens at 10am, December 26


6-TECH Service Center

Location: McNutt Building, lobby

The 6-TECH Service Center provides students, faculty and staff with walk-in support for laptops, including assistance with:

  • connecting your laptop to the UNCG wireless network
  • email configuration on handheld devices
  • laptop consultation and demonstrations
  • basic troubleshooting and virus removal
  • hardware and software repair for Student Program Laptops
  • 48-hour loaners

The 6-TECH Service Center also serves as a drop-off/pickup location for faculty and staff laptops that require a 6-TECH service request.

6-TECH Service Center hours of service:
Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am-4:00pm
(closed Saturday & Sunday)


Location: 1st floor of Jackson Library

SuperLab student consultants assist with:

  • lab software
  • account activation, unlocking, and resets
  • printing in the labs
  • connecting your laptop to the UNCG wireless network
