Access MyCloud in Your Office or at Home

You can access MyCloud on and off campus with your home or office computer (Windows and Mac). There are two ways to access MyCloud:

  • via the Citrix Receiver, installed on your computer
  • via a web browser ("Receiver for Web") at mycloud.uncg.edu

    Note: Information Technology Services (ITS) recommends using the Citrix Receiver for full functionality, but the browser-based "Receiver for Web" will suit most needs if you don't want to or are unable to install the Citrix Receiver locally on your computer. See Access MyCloud with Receiver for the Web.

Install the Citrix Receiver on a Personal Device (for first-time users)

If this is your first time signing in on a computer, you should install Citrix Receiver. This will allow you to access MyCloud without using a web browser. To install the Citrix Receiver, follow the directions below for the appropriate operating system (OS):

NOTE:

  • Make sure your version of OS is supported. Check the Citrix Receiver web page for previous versions if the most current release is not supported on your OS.
  • MyCloud also provides a way to access resources through an HTML5 browser using "Receiver for Web." Due to differences in browser configurations and plugins, ITS recommends installing the Citrix ReceiverĀ for your operating system platform if possible. However, if you don't want to or are unable to install the Citrix Receiver locally on your computer, see Access MyCloud with Receiver for the Web. Install the Citrix Receiver on Your Work Computer (for first-time users)

If this is your first time signing in on a computer, you should install Citrix Receiver. This will allow you to access MyCloud without using a web browser. To install the Citrix Receiver on your UNCG-imaged computer, follow the instructions for Windows or Mac.

Windows

  1. From within the Application Catalog (AppCat), search for Citrix Receiver. Once you find it, click Citrix Receiver in the list and then click Install.

  2. Next, follow instructions for Configuring the Citrix Receiver.

Mac

  1. Mac users can install the Citrix Receiver from the MacApps volume. See: Installing Applications (Mac).
  2. Then, follow instructions for Configuring the Citrix Receiver.



Configure the Citrix Receiver

  1. Launch the Citrix Receiver application from All Programs (Windows) or Applications (Mac).
  2. In the Add Account dialog box, enter your UNCG email address (ex: jhdoe@uncg.edu) and click Add.

  3. Enter your UNCG User name and Password. Click Log on.

  4. A second prompt for your UNCG User name and Password may pop up if you are on the UNCG GCN network. Enter your credentials again and click Log On.

  5. You have now successfully configured Citrix Receiver. Click OK to accept the Acceptable Use policy and continue.
