On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, two MyCloud Desktops, Campus and Student Desktop, will be transitioned to new Windows 11 MyCloud desktops. This upgrade is designed to improve performance, security, and user experience. Alongside the OS transition, the desktop names will change to better reflect their intended usage.

New Desktop Names

  • Campus Desktop will transition to the Administrative Desktop.
  • Student Desktop will transition to the Academic Desktop.

Data Retention

All existing user profile data will be retained during the transition process. This includes:

  • User mapped printers
  • Network drives
  • Application settings
  • Pinned apps and shortcuts

Other Desktops

At this time, the Secure Desktop and any other MyCloud Desktops not mentioned will remain on their current operating systems.
