What Is Changing?

On Wednesday, July 30, the Office desktop apps on managed Windows computers will switch from device-based licensing to user-based licensing.

This update adds important features, including:

  • Sensitivity labels to protect and classify data
  • Microsoft Copilot (for users with the appropriate license)

These changes apply only to faculty and staff Windows-based GCN computers.

Do I Need to Do Anything?

No. The license type will update automatically.
