Over winter break, Information Technology Services (ITS) will update how M365 accounts are created and managed. These changes will streamline the process and fix some lingering account issues from the M365 migration.  

Key Dates: 

  • Self-Service Password Reset Unavailable: 
    Noon, December 25, 2024, until 9:00 p.m., December 27, 2024 

During this time, all M365 services (Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, etc.) will work except for password resets. If you attempt to reset your password during this window, it may appear to work, but your accounts will not sync properly, causing potential login issues across devices and services.  

What You Need to Do 

If your password does not expire between now and January 2, 2025, do not change it.

If your password is set to expire between December 20, 2024, and January 11, 2025

  • Watch for a Password Change Prompt: ITS will force a password change for affected accounts. You will be required to change your password before winter break.  
  • How to change your password: 
    1. Visit https://myaccount.uncg.edu
    2. Select Change Password
    3. Follow the prompts to create a new, secure password. 

        ITS will send direct emails to affected users.
