UNCG will be working with the North Carolina National Guard Cyber Security Response Force (CSRF) to conduct a penetration test from September 16th to September 20th. This test is an important annual activity that helps ensure the security of our systems and networks.
What to Expect:
- You may notice an increase in access attempts during this period.
- We do not anticipate any disruptions to services.
- All assets will be closely monitored, and the IT Security Office (ITSO) will directly notify asset owners if any action is needed.
Why This Matters:
Penetration testing gives us valuable insights into the security of UNCG’s systems. By identifying potential vulnerabilities, we can better protect against future security threats. This test may also evaluate the Secure Research Enclave and could even meet the requirements of certain paid certifications, potentially saving on future certification costs.
