As the course withdrawal deadline approaches, we want to ensure students are aware of the impact of the upcoming planned network outage and how they can proceed if affected.

Key Details:

  • Course Withdrawal Deadline: The last day for students to withdraw from 16-week courses without receiving a WF grade is Friday, October 11, at 11:59 p.m
  • Planned Network Outage: A network outage is scheduled to begin on October 11 at 7:00 p.m. During the outage, students may be unable to access UNCGenie to withdraw from courses during the last 5 hours before the deadline.

What Should Students Do If They Can’t Access UNCGenie?

Students who are unable to withdraw from courses due to the network outage should follow these steps to request an administrative withdrawal:

    • Send an Email: Students should email [email protected] to request an administrative withdrawal.
      • Include in the Email:
        • Their student ID number
        • The course(s) they wish to withdraw from.
    • Submit Email Requests by October 16: Students must send their email request as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday, October 16. Requests received after this date will not be processed.

      Confirmation Process:

Students who submit an email request will receive a confirmation email from the Registrar’s Office once their withdrawal has been processed.
