Featured Image for Data Deletion of Inactive or Over-Quota Academic User Profiles in MyCloud

Academic user profiles in MyCloud will be deleted on December 16, 2024, if either of the following conditions apply:

  1. Inactivity: You haven’t logged into MyCloud’s Academic Desktop or Academic Dev Desktop in the last 30 days.
  2. Excess Data: Your profile contains more than 10 GB of data.

What You Need to Do

  • To Keep Your Profile Active: Log in to MyCloud at least once and modify or create a file within your profile before December 16.
  • If You Have More Than 10 GB of Data: Move any excess data to a permanent location, such as:
    • OneDrive (UNCG’s recommended storage location)
    • S Drive (if available)
    • Your local computer or other offline storage

Important Notes

  • Temporary Use Only: MyCloud Academic Desktop storage is for temporary use and is not backed up.
  • Data Loss Warning: Any data lost during the deletion process cannot be restored. Ensure all important data is moved to a permanent storage location before December 16, 2024.
