What Is Changing?
UNCG ITS is decommissioning the Netreg self-service tool, which is currently used to register wired hosts on the ISP Network.
The tool will be permanently shut down on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025.
When?
Friday, Dec. 19, 2025
This is the official retirement date for Netreg. After this date, the tool will no longer be available.
Why?
Netreg is being retired as part of ongoing efforts to modernize network management practices and ensure alignment with the University’s evolving operational needs.
Do I Need to Do Anything?
If you need to register a new wired host on the ISP Network after the retirement:
- Contact your department’s Distributed Technology Support (DTS) staff, or
- Submit a request through the 6-TECH online portal.
No additional action is needed for devices that are already registered.
