Updates to the UNCG Online Directory

What’s Changing? 

On Friday, August 30, 2024, Information Technology Services (ITS) will update the logic that determines who is listed in the UNCG Online Directory. The change is in response to feedback from the campus community and aims to better align with the employment lifecycle of faculty and staff at UNCG. 

What was the Old Logic? 

The directory previously included: 

  • Eligible Faculty 
  • Eligible Staff 

What is the New Logic? 

The directory will now include:

  • Eligible Faculty 
  • Current Staff 

This means the directory will display staff who are actively working at UNCG. Staff will be listed only if they are between their official employment start and end dates. For example, staff who have not yet started will not appear in the directory. 

No Change for Faculty 

It is important to note that there will be no changes to how faculty members are included in the directory. The update only affects the listing of staff members, ensuring that only current, active staff are displayed.
