Who: Users of UNCG’s Citrix Environment (MyCloud)
What: Enabling the Citrix Device Posture Service
When: Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
What’s Happening?
Information Technology Services (ITS) will enable the Citrix Device Posture Service during a planned maintenance window on Saturday, July 12, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
The Citrix Device Posture Service is a cloud-based solution that allows UNCG to evaluate whether endpoint devices meet certain criteria before they access MyCloud resources. While no policies are currently being enforced, this service lays the groundwork for future enhancements in security and access control.
What You Need to Know
- A small agent will be pushed to Windows devices managed by ITS.
- Access to MyCloud will not be restricted at this time based on device posture results.
- Users may experience a 2-second delay when logging into the Citrix Workspace app.
- Installing the posture client is encouraged, but optional. Users may choose to skip the scan and continue with unrestricted access.
What You’ll See
Depending on how you access MyCloud, you may be prompted to run or download a Citrix posture check:
- Via Web Browser:
You will be prompted to run or install the Citrix End Point Analysis client. If it’s not installed or out-of-date, you’ll be redirected to install or update it. You can choose to skip the scan and continue. - Via Citrix Workspace App:
If the posture client is missing or outdated, you’ll see options to Download Client, Check Again, or Skip the check. We encourage users to download the client when prompted. Skipping is permitted and will not affect access at this time.
