What is it?
UNCG is implementing Minerva360, a new student success platform that will support the work of the Division of Student Success and other campus partners. Minerva360 is powered by EAB’s Navigate360 technology.
Launching in fall 2027, Minerva360 will replace Starfish as the University’s primary platform for academic advising, early alerts, and student support.
The platform will help faculty, academic advisors, and student support staff identify students who may need assistance, share information, and connect students with appropriate resources.
Minerva360 will also introduce a student mobile app, providing another way for students to access information and support.
Why Are We Doing It?
UNCG is transitioning to Minerva360 to improve academic advising, strengthen communication, and help students connect with the support they need.
The new platform will:
- Improve access to support. Make it easier for students to connect with advisors, campus resources, and helpful information.
- Strengthen communication. Help students, faculty, advisors, and support staff stay connected.
- Support earlier intervention. Help faculty and staff recognize when students may need additional assistance.
- Improve decision-making. Provide better information to understand student needs, identify challenges, and improve services.
Minerva360 builds on the work already done through Starfish while expanding the tools available to support student success.
How Will I Be Impacted?
Minerva360 will introduce new tools for students, faculty, and staff. How you use the platform will depend on your role at UNCG.
Faculty and Staff
If you currently use Starfish for advising, early alerts, scheduling appointments, or student support, you will transition to Minerva360 in fall 2027.
Depending on your role, Minerva360 will help you:
- Identify students who need support. Recognize concerns and connect students with appropriate resources.
- Stay informed about student support. View outreach and support information without having to track it down across different offices.
- Work with colleagues. Communicate and coordinate with others who support the same students.
- Connect students with resources. Help students find advisors, campus services, and other assistance.
Students
Minerva360 will provide new ways to connect with academic advisors and campus support services.
Students can expect:
- A mobile app for accessing information and support.
- Tools to connect with academic advisors and campus resources.
- Communication and guidance to help them navigate their academic journey.
More details about student features and access will be shared as the launch approaches.
When Will This Be Implemented?
UNCG began implementing Minerva360 in August 2026, with a planned campus-wide launch in fall 2027.
The transition from Starfish will take place as part of the launch. Additional information about training and important dates will be shared as implementation progresses.
What Do I Need To Do?
No action is needed right now.
Continue using Starfish as usual. Starfish will remain UNCG’s active platform for academic advising, early alerts, and related student support throughout the 2026-27 academic year.
Before Minerva360 launches, UNCG will provide:
- Information about changes to current processes.
- Training and instructional resources.
- Instructions for accessing and using Minerva360.
- Updates about the transition from Starfish.
