NEOED HR Platform Implementation

Modernizing HR services with simpler, more connected tools and processes.

What is it?

NEOED is a Human Resources platform designed to bring several employee services and processes into a more connected system.

UNCG will introduce NEOED in phases, beginning with Learn and eForms and expanding to additional tools for recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and other HR processes.

NEOED will support:

  • Recruiting and hiring
  • New employee onboarding
  • Employee training and professional development
  • Electronic forms and automated workflows
  • Performance management and development planning
  • Integration with Banner and other HR processes
  • Reporting and access to HR information

Why are we doing it?

Many HR processes currently rely on separate systems, paper or PDF forms, and manual steps. NEOED will help UNCG create a more efficient and connected experience for employees, managers, and campus partners.

Benefits include:

  • Better employee experience: Make HR tools and information easier to access and use.
  • Simpler processes: Reduce paper forms and manual steps.
  • More efficient workflows: Automate routing, approvals, notifications, and other routine processes.
  • More connected services: Bring related HR processes together within a shared platform.
  • Better information: Improve reporting and access to HR data.
  • Improved compliance: Provide better tools for managing required training, records, approvals, and other requirements.

How will I be impacted?

The NEOED implementation will eventually affect all UNCG employees, although the changes you experience will depend on your role and the phase being implemented.

As NEOED is introduced, you may see:

  • Easier access to learning: Required training, professional development, certifications, and learning records will be available in a centralized location.
  • Simpler forms and approvals: Many paper- and PDF-based processes will move to electronic forms with automated routing, approvals, notifications, and digital signatures.
  • Improved recruiting and onboarding: Future phases will provide new tools for candidates, hiring managers, HR staff, and new employees.
  • Updated employee and manager tools: Later phases will introduce tools for performance management, employee development, position management, and other HR processes.

Human Resources, Information Technology Services (ITS), Faculty Personnel Services, the Graduate School, Student Employment, Payroll, managers and supervisors, HR liaisons, faculty, and staff will participate in or be affected by different phases of the project.

When will this be implemented?

The NEOED implementation is a phased initiative planned through 2027. Exact dates may be adjusted as the project progresses.

What do I need to do?

No action is required for all employees at this time.

As each NEOED phase approaches:

  • Watch for information about changes that affect your role.
  • Complete any required learning before new tools or processes are introduced.
  • Follow updated instructions for HR processes as they become available.
  • Managers, supervisors, HR liaisons, and others with specialized responsibilities may receive additional guidance.
