Students, faculty, and staff who download software from UNCG’s Application Catalog (AppCat).
What’s Changing?
UNCG is transitioning from the Application Catalog (AppCat) to the Microsoft Company Portal app.
Company Portal is the modern replacement for AppCat. All previously published software remains available for download. There is no loss of access to approved applications.
When?
The transition will occur on Monday, Mar. 2, 2026.
After this date, Company Portal will be the standard method for downloading approved software.
Why Is UNCG Making This Change?
Company Portal:
- Provides a modern, Microsoft-supported experience.
- Improves visibility into software installation status and updates.
- Aligns with Microsoft’s current device management tools.
- Supports a more streamlined and sustainable software delivery process at UNCG.
What Do I Need to Do?
No action is required.
If you previously used AppCat, begin using Company Portal for future software downloads.
