MyCloud will purge all user profiles for the Academic (Dev) Desktop and Administrative Desktop on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, if either of the following conditions apply:

  • Inactivity: You have not logged in within the last 30 days.
  • Over-Quota: Your profile contains more than 10 GB of data.

This purge does not affect Secure Desktop users.

Who Needs to Act?

Anyone who uses the MyCloud Academic (Dev) Desktop or Administrative Desktop and wants to keep their profile and data.

What’s Happening?

All profiles that are inactive or exceed the 10 GB storage limit on Tuesday, Dec. 16 will be permanently deleted.

What You Need to Do

Before Tuesday, Dec. 16, complete the steps below to keep your profile active and avoid data loss:

  1. Log in at least once to your MyCloud desktop — Academic (Dev) or Administrative.
  2. Modify or create a file within your profile so the system registers activity.
  3. Check your storage size. If your profile exceeds 10 GB, move files to a permanent storage location such as:
    • OneDrive (recommended)
    • S Drive (if available)
    • Your local computer or other offline storage

Why This Is Important

  • Temporary Use Only: MyCloud desktop storage is for temporary use and is not backed up.
  • Data Loss Warning: Any data lost during the deletion process cannot be restored. Ensure all important data is moved to a permanent storage location before Tuesday, Dec. 16.
