What Is Happening?
UNCG is performing a scheduled Oracle Database Quarterly Release Update (RU) as part of ITS’s standard quarterly patching schedule.
During the maintenance window, Oracle-dependent services may be temporarily unavailable or experience interruptions.
Affected services include:
- Faculty and Student Services Self-Service
- Self-Service Banner (UNCGenie)
- DegreeWorks
- Student Accounts Credit Card Payments
- UNCG Account Provisioning
- AIMS Administrative Services
- Banner Admin Pages
- Banner Workflow
- WebFOCUS Reporting from Banner and ODS
- ODS
- Grouper
- Power BI Connections to Oracle
When?
Thursday, May 28, 2026, 5:30 – 7:30 a.m.
Why?
ITS follows a standard quarterly patching release schedule to help improve service reliability and maintain the security of hosted Oracle database services.
These updates help ensure systems remain stable, secure, and supported.
Do I Need to Do Anything?
If possible, avoid using affected Oracle-dependent services during the maintenance window.
No additional action is required unless you experience issues after maintenance is complete.
