Laptop Ownership Requirement Discontinued
On Tuesday, January 13, 2009, Provost David H. Perrin announced that Academic Affairs would be removing the University-wide requirement for all undergraduate students to own a laptop. However, ITS will continue to offer students the opportunity to purchase a laptop at a discounted price.
UNCG Outsources Student Email to Google
UNCG ITS has completed the move of student email to the new iSpartan service. iSpartan is UNCG's implementation of Google Apps for Education and was selected as the email system for all UNCG students following a Google email pilot involving 3,000 students. iSpartan replaces e-Spartan (Lotus Notes) as the University email system for students.
